12,400 TEU MSC container ship disabled in Dardanelles, turned back

New-Panamax container ship MSC MARIA SAVERIA suffered mechanical failure while entering Dardanelles from Aegean sea in the morning Jan 31, being en route from Saudi Arabia to Turkey’s Marmara sea port. Dardanelles Traffic Control Center deployed two tugs to take ship under control. By 1200 UTC she probably, partially restored power, but she was not allowed to continue transit and as of 1230 UTC she was moving back to Aegean sea, to anchorage, escorted by two tugs.
